The Northeast Chapter of the Challenged Athletes Foundation is holding its 6th annual “Heroes, Heart & Hope” Gala on Wednesday, June 13 at NYC’s Waldorf=Astoria and we are looking for pre-event volunteers for 2 separate projects, one on Monday, June 11 and one on Tuesday, June 12. Each of the gala’s 900 attendees will be given a gift bag at the end of the event, stuffed with premium items donated by event sponsors. This is our final “thank you” to our guests for their support, and a coveted item by attendees.
What we’ll be doing: Registration Packet Stuffing: stuff 900+ registration packets, 1 per guest, to include auction information, table information, and other event materials. All packets must be kept in guest/bidder # order and must be quality-checked to ensure accuracy.
What you should know: Light food & beverages will be provided, casual attire is fine, as volunteers may be sitting at tables or on the floor to put materials together
The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) is a San Diego-based non-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities and support to people with physical disabilities so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. CAF believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life. As a result, the communities in which CAF-funded athletes live and work are enhanced and improved by the athlete’s new-found ability to thrive. In 19 years, CAF has raised more than $35 million and supported more than 6,000 physically challenged individuals around the world, through the funding of adaptive sports equipment, training, coaching and mentoring, through its Access for Athletes and Operation Rebound programs.
